Engage in Citizen Sciences

The Spot-A-Shark USA program invites divers, snorkelers, and anyone on the water to photograph sand tiger sharks and upload images to their website, contributing directly to research. Additionally, the UNCW Marine Mammal Stranding Program focuses on protecting marine mammals through investigations and research. Ocearch is a data-centric organization built to help scientists collect previously unattainable data in the ocean by tracking tagged animals, especially sharks.
