Our Mission: Protecting North Carolina's Sharks
Discover the passion and purpose behind NC Shark Savers. Learn what drives us to protect these vital marine creatures and how we're making a difference for North Carolina's marine ecosystems.

Our Inspiration: A Call to Action
NC Shark Savers was founded out of a deep concern for the unprotected shark species facing extinction, coupled with the surprising data on the low number of recorded shark bites. We were profoundly inspired by the critical, often overlooked, role sharks play in maintaining the health and balance of our marine ecosystems. This realization fueled our commitment to their protection.

Our Core Message: Facts Over Fear
The main message we want you to take away is clear: the decline in shark populations is largely due to human activity, and therefore, it is our collective responsibility to save them from extinction. We believe that understanding this truth is the first step towards effective conservation and a healthier ocean for all.

How We're Making a Difference
NC Shark Savers is dedicated to protecting sharks and educating the public through several key initiatives. We inform people about the vital importance of sharks to marine health, highlight the many endangered species and the reasons behind their decline, and debunk myths by emphasizing how little threat sharks truly pose to humans. Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for these magnificent creatures.
